I Am 79 And I Fall Asleep Several Times During The Day, Yet I Often Wake Up 2 Or 3 Times At Night. Why?
That is very interesting about the light as I need total darkness in order to remain asleep. I first noticed this when I lived in my current home and my bedroom was at the front of the house. A neighbor across from me and one house over had a motion light over the garage and during the night it would get tripped and come on for a few minutes and I would wake up. I figured that out and moved my room to back off the house and put up black out curtains, now if I'm asleep and other members of the household are awake they know to put a towel under my door because even that light coming in will wake me. As well as noises from TV, pets, outside etc so I usually wear ear plugs and a sleep mask
Interesting about sleeping with the light on. As a general rule I need total darkness, I am not sure if I could actually sleep with the light on. But itβs worth a try. Thank you
Our sleep cycle doesn't work like everyone else's. It's a double whammy being tired all the time and still unable to sleep well. I found a little relief by sleeping all day and working evenings and spending my awake time alone from after midnight till 7 or 8 am. Sleep paralysis doesn't seem as terrifying during the day. Also sleeping in a fully lit room helps... After you get used to the light
