Having Trouble Remembering Which Meds You Have Taken?

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Colorado Springs, CO

A doctor advised me decades ago to keep a record of my meds (amt, dosage, time) and past medical history. To this I added all my past meds that I was prescribed for narcolepsy but didn't work. The meds we get for our narcolepsy often have wicked side effects and we don't want to buy the same real estate twice. Every time you switch doctors (keep a record of the doctors' names you have seen also ) you have a record of what's already been tried. I can't stress this enough that this is VITAL and… read more

Has Anyone Else Here Developed Narcolepsy From The H1n1 Flu In Late 2009/early 2010?

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Clover, SC

It was shown years after the h1n1 flu but 1st thought to develop narcolepsy from the vaccine in the UK that people who caught this flu did develop narcolepsy from the virus itself and there is a connection between it and having mononucleosis at some point.

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member

I had been Dx before H1N1
Dr. had demanded that I had to get the flu shots or find a new Dr.

Medication To Control Nightmares

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Colorado Springs, CO

Is there any medication, beside minipress, that helps with nightmares? The minipress dropped my blood pressure too low (which it is intended to do being a high blood pressure med) so I couldn't use it. It did help while I took it.

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member

Yeah I don’t know if I got H1N1 in 2010 because I never got checked but at the same time that virus was going on I got really sick. I was in bed for about 3 days high fever. I might have had it and… read more

Sleep Paralysis

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Sacramento, CA

I feel like everything inside me is shaking real fast. and I have audio and visual hallucinations, when I realize that I'm having one of these attacks, the hallucination stops, and I am aware of what is happening, and try to wake up. But I can't break out of it, and I get scared, thinking I'm going to die! Then I think, If I could just open my eyes, move some part of my body, a finger, even, or yell out for help, that It would stop but I cannot move and everything in my body feels like I'm… read more

Not Diagnosed Yet

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Cedar Creek, TX

With for the last 5 years I've had all incidents of falling asleep without being wake up. Mostly happens when I'm very stressed out or very angry. I have found myself falling sleep at restaurants ,at my job and at home where nobody can get me to wake up or respond. Is there a thing called stress related narcolepsy? Can some help. I will be going to specialist when I got insurance again. Thanks for your time.

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member

I hope it goes very well!
