Have had a diagnosis of narcolepsy with cataplexy for about 10 years. While sleep was always important to me, I never knew it was narcolepsy until I started collapsing at work. I was embarrassed at what was happening and withdrew from life to continue to hide it. I did my research and suspected cataplexy. A couple of doctor visits later it was confirmed. How does it work, does it reduce, reduce or stop your cateplexia?

I started Wakix about 3 weeks ago. I can't take the full dose due to a medication interaction with another med I take. I think it's making a difference. I do feel more "awake" throughout the day, instead of only getting the normal 1-3 hrs of feeling "ok, kind of awake". I take it as soon as I wake up ( decide to get out of bed) along with my normal 20 mg Adderall. With Adderall alone it's more of "my body is forced awake but my brain is far from it" type of awake. Has anyone been able to get on Wakix? My doctor has spent hours and hours per patient attempting to get them on Wakix with no success! What is the deal?

I've tried almost all of the narcolepsy meds and nothing worked. I'm on Adderall 20mg 3 times a day... which barely work all day, and I take Trazodone 150mg at night (which work great) to sleep.

Is anyone out there taking Wakix? Has it helped you? My concern are side effects, etc. Let me know what you think of it. Thanks!😴

Has anyone changed from xyrem to xywave? What is your experience with either of them? Both have changed the taste, and what foods I eat, has that happened to you?
