Is It Possible To Have Almost All Of The Narcolepsy Symptoms And Still Not Have Narcolepsy?
Yup. I start REM within 4 mins, as my studies showed. Crazy! Sometimes I don't know what's real and what's a dream. That when it gets scary.
Yes!! My very first sleep study diagnosed me with narcolepsy. A required test by my employer 20 years later, he said that technically I didn't. I argued & questioned that for 10 years until I got a different sleep doctor and test. She said:
You have all the symptoms of narcolepsy except for something, and it was over my head. However she was extremely empathetic. Employers, even other non-sleep doctors, friends and family don't understand or have empathy unless I have the label "narcolepsy". My new sleep doc said just tell them you have a sleep disorder with narcolepsy like symptoms. And if they still don't care or aren't understanding...then screw em! LOL She's a great sleep doctor who suffers from sleep disorders herself.
Thanks for your comments. Sometimes it is the same with me.
Well, that's not me. There are times when it seems like I start dreaming as soon as I close my eyes.
Yes and that is called idiopathic hypersomnia which means they can see on the MSLT that you fall asleep in under five minutes but then you have no immediate REM stage sleep and that is apparently the key marker for narcolepsy
