Have You Ever Known Or Heard Of Anyone Being Cured Of Narcolepsy?

One of my children knows someone who professes to be cured from narcolepsy by changing her diet, took supplements, lost weight.

I have been a sugar addict for years because it gave me that initial Rush of energy I was lacking but now finding out I have so much more energy since I have really cut back on my sugar and carbs like bread and pasta. Also have been doing intermittent fasting for a couple of months and I cannot believe how much better my narcolepsy symptoms have gotten. I actually have days now where I realize I didn't need to even take a nap. Other thing is really having good sleep hygiene which is hard for us. I try to get in bed by 11:00 to 11:30 every night rather than my usual one or two in the morning. Started eating more organic food and grass-fed meat that don't have food additives which really raise hell with narcolepsy. Hope you find this helpful.

Seems to be research demonstrating eliminating sugar from diet really has good effect on narcolepsy symptoms...requires some patience because sugar is in almost everything! I have started doing intermittent fasting and my symptoms have greatly improved .

Hi... identified with what you said about sugar it's poison. Have you read the book Sugar Blues? Only off for 30 days now and like you I just don't bring it into the house otherwise after dark I go on a feeding Frenzy. I did the very thing also. Frozen cherries! Lol! Ends up super high carb so even had to watch out for that since spiked my sugar. Wondering also if I can beat this narcolepsy type 2 using diet and mouth taping.

Hi Narco Guy. I feel your pain. It seems like this disease has stolen my life from me in so many ways. I am consistently looking for ways to improve my mental health, lose some weight and decrease impact of Narcolepsy. I have recently found out about Dr Mindy Pelz, she is a women's health specialist but she has been mega educating herself about fasting and how this can help heal your body. While much of her info is geared towards women she does include men. She has lots of videos on You Tube and I just found one about improving Orexin. I am not sure how effective this would be for us N1 sufferers since the hypothalamus is reportedly different for us. I am planning to give her plan a go. If this can help me reduce meds and their side effects and have better quality of life that is a Major Win.
This may seem like an advertisement, I assure you it is not. I am in no way affiliated other than by watching her You Tube Videos. Hope this information helps you, If you are somewhat like me I say, new knowledge is always a good thing.

Oh - I forgot ... I'm in counseling because of all the autoimmune diseases and other illnesses - all painful - and the older I get, the less patience I have with my sickass, pitiful excuse of a male human being ... self! Our grandson - we have only one grandson - is of the age that I would love to hang out with him every day. That is becoming my greatest regret in life - meds weaken my immune system - and he is so busy - homeschool, local youth orchestra and cello practice, piano practice, tennis practice, learning "coding", archery practice, homework ... and sleep. His two siblings are just as busy - lots of human interaction is bad for this "Pops".
That's it!
