Carbs and sugar make My sleep attacks worse. The diet is a big thing because if you overeat you will be so sleepy after a meal you will need to take a nap even if you have taken the meds or any energy drink. I find that taking my meds before I eat in the morning waiting about 10 minutes to eat will help the meds digest first and ger to my nervous system faster then the food. So I dont get sluggish after I eat. Fruit is good if you are hungry but are working or doing an activity that you dont want to fall asleep on. Intermidiate fasting does help when you are fasting. You wont get as sleepy. When you eat is the problem. I find that if I fast fot too long my sugar levels decrease, I get dizzy and weak. So when it is time to eat i overendulge and crash. It might work for some people. It doesnt for me. I rather eat small meals or the three regular meals. I find my Cataplexy gets worse when I have strong emotions. Very exited, happy, super sad or angry. It mkes it worse and I start feeling like shock waves in my brain. Hard to explain and unbalanced when I walk.

I intermittent fast and eat low carb and low sugar as much as possible. It helps a lot! I take an antidepressant which got rid of my cataplexy. I drink a LOT of water too!
