I know with chronic fatigue syndrome, you can push yourself too hard and then have consequences of that in the following days. Do you feel the same thing with narcolepsy?

Members overwhelmingly confirmed that narcolepsy symptoms worsen when they push themselves too hard, with many describing a pattern of rare good days where they accomplish as much as possible, only to be bedridden or down for the next one to two days. Several members shared practical coping strategies, including limiting themselves to two appointments per day, scheduling one or two rest days per week with no commitments, and learning to honor sleep attacks with naps rather than pushing through to avoid confusion and irritability. A recurring theme was the emotional difficulty of pacing oneself after years of being more capable, the guilt of affecting loved ones when energy crashes, and the bittersweet trade-off of celebrating accomplishments even knowing the crash that will follow.

If I get have "good" day I (if physically able) usually push myself to accomplish the most that I can before I drop. Those days are extremely rare, but almost every time a "good day" happens it's almost a guarantee that I will be "down" for the next 1-2 days.

Hi, I know my narcolepsy gets worse when I have pushed myself too hard. I all of a sudden could almost stop what I am doing and get into bed.
