Does Narcolepsy/cataplexy Get Any Easier The Older You Get Or Even The Longer You Have It?
60! Holy Cow! That is a long time to have to deal with this condition. Had I not been awake when my health teacher in high school mentioned narcolepsy, I probably would have stumbled through life unmedicated for a long time. Even medicated, I am not the leader of the pack in any area of my endeavors. I hope you can find a good neurologist that can get you medicated properly. It can make a huge, but not total, change in your life. I am 77 now and when I look back on my life, I know I would never have been able to do any fraction of what I managed to do had I not been legally medicated most of my life. I see so many people in the street strung out on Meth, and think "... there but for fortune go I." I wish you well in all you do.
No you just get old and develop osteoporosis and brittle bones. Most my praying moments( when I have sudden sleep attack), now the naps come with a broken bone as a bonus gift.
It hasn't for me.
While my symptoms have profoundly worsened with age I have read that for most it levels off without any worsening.
I don't think it gets easier. My spells are lasting longer and have multiple in a roll. Affected my working and considered a difficult case they don't know what to do with. So I think they get worse.
