I Am 50 Years Old I Have Narcolepsy + Cataplexy I Can No Longer Do Much Of Anything Anymore Sitting I'm Asleep Has Anyone Got SSi For This
I've been on disability for my narcolepsy since 2010 but I had to wait two years because I appealed the first decision
I finally got disability, with the help of an attorney. They denied me multiple times and then they had to do an occupational evaluation. After the evaluation they came up with one job I could do. Then my attorney asked if the job could be done with narcolepsy. After a short pause they said with narcolepsy that job couldn’t be done.
That sounds really hard. And it makes sense you feel like it has been stolen. Afterall, you must sleep, but can't do as many things as a you enjoy. Be kind to yourself. What you're going through is very real.
I am 54 years and it sometimes feel like my life got "stolen" from me. I had narcolepsy since I can remember. It was misdiagnozed as the medical system in South Africa is not well informed when it comes to narcolepsy. It is not awknowledged as a permanent mrdical condition as it appears nowhere.
This is a great platform to use as it sometimes feel as if I just need to know that people with this feel the same.
May all of you have a good day.
My wife’s Dr. said he would complete the paperwork for her to get SSI. Speak with your Dr.
