How Does Everyone Handle The Appetite Rollercoaster? I’m Not Hungry All Day But Get Hungry In The Evenings.

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I take 60 mg of addrrall XR in the mornings just to be able to do any sort of daily activities and some afternoons I have to take a 10 mg adderall tablet just to get through the rest of the day.

I hear you. I take 40 just to wake up and join the human race. Lol! And if I can get through the I will try to skip the third 20mg pill. If I haven't eaten a good meal all day, I will try to eat by 6p.m. for good digestion. I try. At least I can function quite well. For a long time I was a mess dealing with narcolepsy.

Don’t take too many stimulants. I have never taken stimulants, but all the western medicines I have taken can only control the dosage and then the dosage becomes larger and larger. In the past, the doctor diagnosed me as a special kind of epilepsy, and later diagnosed me as bipolar. disorder, the results for both diagnoses were similar—I was taking more and more medication. In the end, I became desperate and slowly stopped taking all the medicines, and turned to Chinese medicine for treatment - of course, Chinese medicine treatment should be combined with a vegetarian diet and exercise. I have to say, all this really works.
Of course, for reference only.

I had Binge Eating Disorder before getting diagnosed and treated. My body was searching for energy through food. My nuvigil has cut my appetite a lot but I find that I also am mostly hungry at night but maybe it’s more to do with the fact I'm tired and my meds worn off a bit . I have a hard rule now not to eat anything 2 hours before bedtime. It kind of forces me to eat during the day.

Honestly, eating is last on my list of things to do, and many times I simply don't.
I was never a foodie, (I weigh a whopping 105 lbs) and now, given the choice, I'll nap over eating every time.
I try to remember to feed my husband and son everyday, but it's hit or miss.
I don't take any meds at the moment, but when I took Vyvance, I NEVER ate.
Eating inevitably means napping anyway, so I just skip the food and go straight to nap bc I don't usually have the brain power to figure out what to feed myself, and if it's not already prepared... well, I'm not bothering with it. It required too much processing power and leaves me worn out.
I do eat a ton of ice cream though, and drink glasses of Soy milk for protein.

Same here, Corrina. I eat nothing all day and head straight for the kitchen several times during the night. Lots of peanut butter and frosting by the spoonful. Way too much ice cream. Any candy or cookies inthe house dont stand a chance... I'll go for anything sweet I can find. I straight up crave it, like i craved a cigarette before i quit smoking. Sometimes I wake up in the morning sick to my stomach from binging on sweets. I weigh the most I ever have and hate it.

Do you ever wake up with food on your clothes or bed or couch thar you fell asleep before finishing? I've melted a popsicle in my bed a few times. Oye
