Adderall

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor won't give me adderall 30. MG. 1 tablet. 3. Times a day. I was taking it since 2017. Prescribed. By the doctor that diagnosed. Me. With narcolepsy. Then. They changed Dr's. On me. What do I do?

Yes, everything Annie2 said. Also there are other stimulant meds that you may want to try. I’ve used any one of them at some point in time, but found I have to rotate as surprisingly a particular one may just not be effective after awhile.

You HAVE to be your own advocate- be that squeaky wheel, DEMAND that they do SOMETHING for you.
I find it so ridiculously frustrating that we people who are suffering in ways they could not understand, but SHOULD bc they are DOCTORS for goodness sake, are at the mercy of those making decisions on how we are going to feel, live, function!
MADDENING!
(Can you tell I’m a little more than pissed?) lol.

I support you being that squeaky wheel SnowyOwl.

You could try asking for a new doctor, talking about their reasoning for not prescribing adderall, or potentially try a different stimulant depending on your talk with your doctor
