Is There A Connection Between Sjogren's Syndrome Since They Are Both Autoimmune?
Hi, these can both be true! A neurological disorder generally just means its a problem in the brain, physically or mentally. Narcolepsy type 1 is autoimmune as our immune system destroys orexin molecules (an important neurotransmitter for regulating sleep and REM). Having one autoimmune conditions does not mean you will have more but it puts you at a higher predisposition as far as I'm aware so there can be some connection within that specifically. Outside of that, I'm not sure. I'm not an expert or a doctor, this is just stuff I've found through my own research.
The article States narcolepsy is neurological disorder. Another place I read that it is also autoimmune. Are they both true?
