I have the same issues, it makes me wake up the next day exhausted and even more so if i try to sleep in. I've noticed cbd helps me stay asleep, but it's not consistent unfortunately. If I find another way I'll make sure to post about it though

My husband with narcolepsy experienced this same kind of waking and unrestful sleep along with vivid dreams.
We saw a neurologist who specialized in sleep disorders and narcolepsy and life has changed for the better for him and our whole family after getting some new medications.
He now takes a low dose antidepressant, a SSRI, and it decreases the amount of time he spends in REM sleep. This has made his sleep so much more restful and decreased his daytime narcolepsy symptoms.
Also he has another medication - an old class of antidepressant that is kind of a tranquilizer - that he can take before bed to help him sleep if he senses he won't be able to fall asleep and stay asleep.
These are both really affordable choices too.
I don't mention the names of the medications because you'll need to a prescription.

I know there are other meds available that can really help with sleep - most of those are really expensive and can be restricted drugs - they didn't work for our lifestyle.

I wish you all the best as you navigate your narcolepsy.

Maybe not as helpful as Amanda's comment, but I've heard that studies say sleeping with socks on helps you fall asleep faster.
