So After Multiple Cataplexy Spells In A Roll Does Anyone Ever Get Headaches After Pr Walk Around With Your Head Feeling Numb?
Confusion is a bit hard to get used to with Cataplexy. It takes a bit for me to realize I am going through Cataplexy. Normally I realize I am having issues and Now I have a plan to help myself. I have not always been so confident.
I was diagnosed at 48 years old. My life took a swift change and treatment woke me up. I now know if I am having a series of accidents or something is just off I need to get safe. Anger from this is a real problem for me. If I didn't know what was happening, I would get violent quickly. And the explosion was damaging to everyone and thing near me. I acted like a 4 year old. Throwing myself around extremely angry. I broke my body and my belongings in an embarrassing moment of self loss.
Life with Narcolepsy is getting better to live with, but I personally have to remind myself to go a bit slower and pay close attention to my sleep and feelings. If I miss my medications I suffer loss of control of my body and mind. The uncontrollable shaking and anger that happens to me is unreal. The numb feeling I get, I believe is my mind just taking a break from lack of sleep. Like I am asleep. Just a distance a odd numb feeling that goes away with time and relaxation.
Control of my emotions is always a must. I fail alot. I am getting better. I have a plan now. Self soothing and care is very important. Nap, take Naps if you miss meditation. Let your mind relax. Just do something soothing. Do not force yourself to be busy. Let others help you with projects if you must do. π
