Has Anyone Received Disability Or SSI For Their Condition?
That’s wild. Idk why they act like it’s not a real life impacting condition that is a lifelong battle but you can get so for having anxiety. Beats me. The process is drawn out way longer than it needs to be seriously, even after the sleep study results show reason as to why the condition can be life impacting. Thanks for sharing 💯✊🏾
I have been fighting for disability for over 3 yrs now. Narcolepsy is only one of my health problems, but it is one of my top 2 issues that effect me personally the most. My father was approved disability for his Narcolepsy diagnosis alone. It took him 4 years with an extremely good lawyer team and an eventual resubmission, which resulted in approval with less back pay. My case went to appealing the judge's denial and was approved. So now im waiting to go back to the judge for her to have to look at my case again because at least a higher up board of judges saw something there that she tried to deny. In the written report explaining her denial, there was SO many medically impossible and untrue statements. I wanted so badly to go immediately back to her to have my say on why there were so wrong, but it had to go by the process. Im not sure ive ever been so mad and upset in my life. The government will fight it tooth and nail but it can be done.
I have been on disability for three years now for my narcolepsy.
