I Saw Something About Sodium Oxybate And Wondering If It Helped Members. Doc Says I Have Chronic Fatigue.Does That Differ From Narcolepsy?
Sodium Oxybate changed my life in multiple ways. I no longer needed to rely on heavy antidepressants to deal with my cataplexy, which means I got my emotions back. I could laugh without collapsing, smile at the slightest things instead of feeling like a zombie the entire time. I could sleep through the night without twisting and turning, waking up feeling more rested. My daytime sleepiness went down significantly. I lost a bunch of weight too and went from chubby to muscular; that gave me a huge boost of confidence at the age of 16-17. (I'm 29 now)
I use Modafinil and Sodium Oxybate, plus a miniscule dose of antidepressants to deal with the last little bit of cataplexy remaining. But I know that Sodium Oxybate can be expensive unfortunately.
I’m not sure that is total from the Narcolepsy. But it doesn’t help I just read about the sodium oxybateim not sure I’ve not used it. I was going to ask my doctor about it but i think there is a lot of side effects
