Do You Ever Feel Like Life On Stimulants Is Some Sort Of Cursed Half-life?

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Maybe it's because I've been on them so long they don't work as well anymore but it's like I can't really sleep (nap) but I can't necessarily function either.

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member

I Have Gone Into Sleep Paralysis Twice And It Is Really Scary.

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Spokane, WA

When I talk with the doctors about it they are adamant that I don't have sleep paralysis. Am I going crazy and just imagining it? I had brownies with weed in them once and a half a bottle of weed in them. And I could not move but I kept saying I needed to go to the er. No one believes I could not move. Everyone thought I was faking not being able to move.

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member

I will ask my dr. about this medication if I have another episode. Thank you.

Alcohol And Narcolepsy

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Lake Arrowhead, CA

My grandmother had narcolepsy and cataplexy. I have always been able to drink alcohol with no problem except for the last 5-7 years. It’s almost like a light switch one minute I feel fine and the next I’m totally passed out and don’t remember anything until I wake up the next morning. Could this be related to narcolepsy? My sister does the exact same thing.

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member

I’ve only drank liquor and I was fine. It actually had the opposite affect on me

No hallucinations, thankfully, but there are mornings where I wake up, hit my alarm, and then get trapped in this sleep-like trance where I'm fully concious of my surroundings, but I can't move for 45 minutes to an hour. If someone shakes my shoulder, that breaks me out of my paralyses, but how can I ask for help if I can't even move? How can I help myself? I've missed so many classes and work shifts… read more
