Disability For Narcolepsy?

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Manassas, VA

Just wondering if anyone has been approved for Social Security Disability for their narcolepsy? I have type 2 along with fibromyalgia, chronic pain syndrome, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, major depressive disorder, PTSD, and morbid obesity. I don't know what more I need to do to prove them that I have multiple disabilities that effect my ability to make it out of bed every morning much less work a job that would probably fire me for all the time I'd miss… read more

I Am Always Tired At 10am

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Avondale, PA

Hello
I wake up at 7am and no matter what I do I always get tired at 10am. I get very sleepy. I’m ok nuvigil 250, strattera 25mg and take XYWAV at night. I’m in recovery so I can’t take any amphetamines. It feels like no matter what I do I have to nap at 10am or 2pm. Please let me know if you have any tips

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member

It depends on your schedule and commitments but are you able to nap during the day? I pre-empt when I know I will struggle and nap over that time when possible. So if 10am was difficult time, I would… read more

I Am Taking 400mg Modafinil For Uncontrollable Daytime Sleeping And 80mg Fluoxetine For Cataplexy Total Collapse, Both Are No Longerworking.

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Chesterfield, UK

I can take a full dose of Modafinil and, if I allow myself, go straight to sleep in seconds.
I am taking a full dose of Fuoxetine and experiencing total loss of muscle control and collapse. It worked like magic at first but now I am back to where I started.
Please, is there anything else I can try?

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member

What is a full dose of Provigil? I thought you could take at least 500mg a day but that depends if your doctor signs that off. I change my dosage depending on what I am doing. If I can, then I will… read more

How Do Y’all Wake Up In The Morning?

A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Houston, TX

I personally can remain conscious with armodafinil, but it’s waking up that is impossible for me and constantly threatened my employment before I started living with my parents and working from home. I take armodafinil around the first alarm (I usually don’t remember taking it - I know I’ve taken it because the pill laid out is gone.) I have to rotate through different alarms because I’ll habituate: shock watch that shocks me until I do jumping jacks, sonic boom alarm that shakes the bed and… read more
